English:
The first certificate of incapacity for work (AU) documents the start of your incapacity for work. It shows the first day you were unable to work and the date until which you are expected to be unable to work.
If you are still unable to work after this period, you receive a follow-up certificate. It only shows the new period of incapacity for work. The start date of the illness is not listed again.
Important: There must not be a gap between the first and follow-up certificates. The follow-up certificate must be issued on the next working day after the first certificate ends. This keeps the certificate continuous.
