English:
A lung function test, also called spirometry, measures how much air you can breathe in and out and how quickly this happens.
The examination is painless and takes only a few minutes. It is used for breathing problems, chronic cough, asthma or COPD. It can also be used to monitor a condition or as a check-up, for example for smokers.
The test can show whether there is a problem with lung function and whether further treatment or medication may be necessary.
